In scenic West Seattle, Washington, perched atop a cliff with panoramic views of Vashon Island, the Olympic Mountains, and the Puget Sound, stands the Lark Home. Initially designed in 1958 by esteemed architect Al Bumgardner, this mid-century gem has not too long ago undergone a transformative renovation, reimagining its area to raised align with its current homeowners whereas honoring its legacy. The challenge, led by SHED Structure & Design, breathes new life into the house by delicately balancing innovation with preservation.

A two-way hearth, clad in black Fireclay glazed brick tiles, between the lounge and first bed room was renovated and closed off on the bed room facet for added privateness.
The entrance facade obtained its personal facelift with new vertical cedar siding painted in Benjamin Moore’s Black Tar paint and a customized pivoting door.
